Welcome! I'm Ronald, and I live just north of Boston in Medford, MA. I have a lake house and wood shop in Northwood, NH.
I spent almost 19 years working at KAYAK.com. I wrote code for them from the earliest days in 2004 until I retired in 2023. These days I keep busy with a couple new ventures. First is New England Table Company which I started as a side hustle in 2022. It quickly grew to a full time business and now has added some part time help. After about 6 months of woodworking and growing that business with social media, I decided to document my journey from very small maker to company owner and beyond as a podcast. The show is called Solo in the Shop. New episodes come out on Wednesdays, and I recently started publishing the podcast as videos where available. When I'm not in the shop making tables or recording the podcast, I spend a lot of time with my wife reading, traveling, and doing all things New England. I love to snowboard, but I don't really have time to do that as much as I'd like.
